5 Plus-Size Organic Cotton Underwear Brands UK
Here are 5 eco-friendly underwear brands that cater to plus-size men and women in the UK. All knickers, briefs, and boxers are made from 100% non-toxic organic cotton.
It’s 2025, yet most non-toxic underwear brands are still not making knickers in inclusive sizes.
When I first wrote about ethical underwear, I couldn’t find any UK brands that catered to plus-size women.
However, things are slowly changing, and I’ve now found enough small businesses to create a separate blog post.
While some brands make Tencel underwear with inclusive sizing, today I’m focusing on organic cotton knickers because they can be certified non-toxic.
There is no agreed-upon term for what counts as plus-size but as the average woman in the UK is a size 16, I specifically looked for companies that went above this.
If you’re a size 14-16 or you’re based in the U.S., you will find more ethical underwear brands here.
I wanted to put a spotlight on the most inclusive brands, so you’ll only find brands that go up to UK size 18-20 or higher.
Most of these brands also offer plus-sized men’s briefs and boxers, too.
Keep reading for five inclusive brands making plus-size organic cotton underwear for people in the UK.
Hint: look for the Global Organic Textile Certification (GOTS) for evidence that the cotton was grown sustainably without toxic chemicals.
My goal is to make sustainable living easier for you by doing all the research. Some blog posts contain affiliate links to eco-conscious products at no extra cost to you.

What is the healthiest underwear to wear?
The healthiest underwear is made from natural materials, like organic cotton, linen, and hemp. They are healthy because natural fibres circulate air better, they are grown without toxic chemicals, and avoid harmful substances in production.
Is 100% organic cotton underwear the same as normal cotton?
No, while certified organic cotton and normal cotton come from the same plant, the way they are grown and manufactured is considerably different.
Conventional cotton uses a ridiculous amount of water, pesticides, and energy. Cotton farming dried up the Aral Sea and is often grown in places where people don’t have enough drinking water.
Organic cotton is made without:
Synthetic pesticides
PFAS (forever chemicals)
Heavy metals
Toxic dyes
Plastic
BPA and phthalates
