Most Sustainable Matching Christmas Pyjamas For Your Family
If your family loves matching Christmas pyjamas, this post will help you find sustainable, ethical, and organic PJs that are not made in sweatshops.
Is there anything more festive than waking up on Christmas morning in the same pyjamas as your kids?!
While I love a family tradition, I much prefer the more sustainable option of matching your PJs for the whole festive season (if not the whole year).
Why waste money by wearing your ethical pyjamas for one night when you can do it for the whole winter?
Honestly, it’s so much more fun this way and your kids will love it.
Obviously, the best option for buying ethical pyjamas is to look for secondhand, but in case you can’t find what you want, I’m going to share four brands from the UK and one brand from the USA that is making sustainable Christmas pyjamas for the whole family.
While you’re here, don’t forget to check out my list of 27 eco-friendly stocking filler ideas or my guide to sustainable wrapping paper.
Why choose sustainable pyjamas?
You may be considering buying from a sustainable brand because you’ve learnt that supermarkets and high street clothing stores:
❌ use overseas sweatshops paying poverty wages to make their pyjamas (and other clothes)
❌don’t have transparent cotton supply chains which means it has a much higher chance of being linked to slavery and genocide
❌don’t use organic cotton which means it was sprayed with a high amount of pesticides and dyed with toxic, non-vegan dyes
❌ may contain synthetic materials, like polyester, which is derived from fossil fuels.
A note on sizing
Unfortunately, ethical clothing brands are seriously behind in inclusive sizing.
While they are slowly offering bigger sizes in adult clothes, the family pyjamas are not quite there yet. If you are not able to buy any of these PJs because the sizes are too small, I would encourage you to send an email to the brand so they know they need to do better.

2. Polarn O Pyret
Child size: 0-12 years
Adult size: XS-XL (8-18)
Located: UK
Materials: GOTS-certified organic cotton
Design: Six styles of Christmas matching pyjamas
The quality of this Scandinavian brand is fantastic and the sustainable pyjamas are no different. I recently passed down some of my baby grows to a friend once my child had grown out of them and they looked brand new!
Polarn O Pyret sizes tend to be on the larger side, I usually need to size down with my slim child. However, you can fold over the cuffs on the arms and legs and get much more wear out of them.
NOTE - these pyjamas are only available during the Christmas period, I will try and update this once I notice they are available again.

3. Little Planet
Child size: NB-14 years
Adult size: XS-XL
Located: USA
Materials: GOTS-certified organic cotton
Design: Three designs
Most of the clothing sold at Carter’s is not sustainable or organic, but they do sell a range of GOTS organic clothing and pajamas called Little Planet.
If you click on “filters” and then “collections” you can find the Little Planet range easier.
4. Sparks and Daughters
Child size: 0-12 years
Adult size: XS-XL (8-18)
Located: UK only
Materials: GOTS-certified organic cotton
Design: Multiple styles available
Based in Somerset, Sparks and Daughters is a family business owned by a mother and daughter. They sell personalised homeware and clothing for the whole family, including Christmas pyjamas, jumpers, sacks, and advent calendars.
You might want to be conscious that personalised products that contain names can be hard to pass on when you’ve grown out of them (especially if your child has a unique name) which is unsustainable.
5. MORI
Child size: 0 - 6 years
Adult size: 8 - 14
Located: UK
Materials: bamboo viscose and organic cotton
Styles: One Christmas style, and other basic options
As someone with a sensory processing disorder, I can tell you there is nothing softer than high-quality bamboo fabric. While I haven’t worn MORI’s pyjamas myself, I have bought them for my baby before and the ribbed fabric is beautiful.
Bamboo viscose is only sustainable when produced responsibly to ensure chemicals do not pollute the environment.
